Three Great Hunts were held during this eleven-year period. This practice carried over into the Galactic War. Due to the diplomatic nature of fighting an undeclared war, the Empire utilized hired mercenaries and bounty hunters without hesitation to accomplish much of its goals. The Cold War brought about resumed hostilities between the Galactic Republic and the resurgent Sith Empire following the breaking of the Treaty of Coruscant, which had ended the Great Galactic War some eleven years earlier.
